The Irish company Tumble Circus has been seen for the first time in Brittany in 2010 thanks to the ZEPA network.

The company would like that the audience comes back to the circus. To do so, there is nothing better than the street. Since 1998, Tina Machina and Ken Evil, the two artists of the company Tumble Circus, innovate the street circus by merging traditional circus techniques and the spirit of the new circus.

UpAbove - Les Rias 2011

« We live in Belfast, a city with a troubled history. The people have developed a savagely dark humor in order to deal with the history. You can see it in music, plays and films, but its street theatre has never really been able to express this darkness. (...) We want to explore the darker themes that we see in our city. We believe that exposing them is better than trying to bury them. » (extract from their website)

Through circus, clown and theatre, we hope to disturb, inspire change and remind people that they are not alone.
