« Nouvelles officielles de la Grande-Bretagne : Monsieur Samuel Gardes est devenu un Lemming. Le processus de transformation en seulement trois semaines a été très difficile mais il a triomphé »*.

This funny email from Grand Theatre of Lemmings co-Director David Rose brought a smile to the staff here, at Atelier 231, also very pleased to see that the artist its Director Daniel Andrieu had recommended in January 2011, got on well with the company, on a human and artistic level.

Samuel had joined the Lemmings on their UK tour for their latest show, The Descent of Man (see David Rose and Samuel Gardès’s interview. "Is he really French?" people often said! The 2 month tour of the show has been a success: combining humour, film, animation and live music, the show went from villages to towns across the country, and was seen by a large audience, sometimes new to this type of practice, but always with a grin on their face at the end of the show!

* In French in the text ! “Official news from Great-Britain: Mister Samuel Gardès has become a Lemmings. The transformation process, in only 3 weeks, has been difficult, but he triomphed”
