Pierre Berthelot, Artistic Director of Générik Vapeur took to the roofs of Great Yarmouth last week as he met SeaChange Arts’ team in advance of a performance of Bivouac at the Out There festival in September.
Pierre and the SeaChange team discussed logistics and the proposed route for the show before climbing some of the town’s landmarks to look at sites for possible interventions within the show.
One such site was the Atlantis Tower. Built in the 1960s, the tower is almost 60 metres high and dominates the skyline of the seafront where the show will reach its conclusion.
“The meeting was important, and enjoyable,” explained Joe Mackintosh from SeaChange. “Not only did we get to discuss very real technical issues and considerations, but also began to understand better Générik Vapeur’s artistic approach.”
The trip was concluded with a visit by Joe and Pierre to see ZEPA’s British Associate Company, No Fit State, who were rehearsing for a performance in Norwich.
