The City of Southampton was delighted to welcome Les Trois Points de Suspension to perform Journey on the Edge of the End of the World on Saturday10th April this year. The company arrived the night before after a long but uneventful journey and were greeted by the Artistic Director of the Nuffield Theatre, Patrick Sandford, and by Sharon Lawless, Producer, Community and Education Projects.

Up bright and early the company began their fit up aided by Nuffield Theatre technical staff under the guidance of the Production Manager, Graeme Whiteside. The weather was glorious especially for this early in the year - hot sunshine all day and although the temperature dropped dramatically at dusk a significant crowd had assembled.

The show formed part of a mini-festival gathered around the naming ceremony for a new cruise liner, the AZURA. This kind of event is always significant for Southampton and undoubtedly helped swell the crowd, though many attenders said they had ’come back for more’ after the Nuffield’s presentation of Trans Express in 2009.

The performance was at 6.30pm and was greatly enjoyed by an audience of over 1000. It was followed by big-screen transmission of the naming ceremony and a firework display. Comments on Les Trois Points de Suspension included "superb", “absolutely lunatic" and "wonderfully French".

The French ’equipe’ were a joy to be with and fantastically skilled in their work. The artistic and technical staff of the Nuffield Theatre gained very considerable insights into the successful presentation of street art.
