FAR Festival alight with Street Arts

The International Street Arts Festival in Brittany started yesterday with some incredible acts that brought the town of Morlaix to life. One of the first to perform in the main square was Great Dave who entertained with a Superman unicycle routine which looked comically precarious and got the whole audience laughing. Following that Tango Sumo were separated from the audience merely by a boxing ring and the audience had an up-close and personal view of this extremely well choreographed show with athleticism and humour that packed a big punch in a very small space.

Later in the evening when the sun went down some of the bigger names were on show and certainly one highlight was Luc Amoros. Although much of the show involved French poetry and text, a lack of the language didn’t matter as it was a truly beautiful experience with incredible visual energy accompanied by some fascinating live music by a solo performer. The audience obviously knew that this was one to see as the main square was packed full with spectators who all cheered appreciatively at the end of the 50-minute show.

Some of these performances are available to watch again tonight, but there is still plenty more on the packed programme, you simply need to wander around the town and no doubt you will stumble onto something incredible, so don’t miss out!
