Every year for the last 3 years, the event la Grande Veillée hunts the streets in Rouen, and the artists invited recall the memory of the dead.

Although the topics sends a shiver down the spine, the theme of death is frequent in the architecture of the city: Aître St Maclou’s macabre friezes, St Nicaise labyrinth, the monumental cemetry, the steeples, etc.

As part of Autumn in Normandy festival, la Grande Veillée was devised by a wide range of local partners including Atelier 231, National Centre for Street-arts, and involves the local community.
