10 students from the Winchester Bachelor of Street Arts on a visit in Brest for a week

For the second year, as part of the event ’La Déambule’, Brest’s ’Freshers’ night’, students from the Bachelor of Street Arts at the University of Winchester will spend a week at the National Creation Centre for street arts « Le Fourneau ».

The programme includes [exploring Le Fourneau’s various activities as well as ZEPA, but meeting students from the Master « Management of Performing Arts » at the University of Brest. The idea of this “residency” is also to work with Compagnie N°8. Before watching their show Homo Sapiens Burocraticus on 6th October as part of the event La Déambule, the 12 students will take part in artistic workshops all week long. These workshops are managed by the choreographer and the artistic director of the Street Arts company. The aim is to give the students the opportunity to perform their interpretation of Homo Sapiens Burocraticus at Hat Fair in 2012. The students came with John Lee, Director of the Bachelor Street Arts and Sally Mann, teacher in this Bachelor.

This week is also the opportunity for the ZEPA Universities’ representatives to meet for two days and share and develop ideas on the future of ZEPA.
