Beau Geste was created in 1981 by seven dancers from theCentre national de Danse Contemporaine (National Centre of Contemporary Dance) headed by the American choreographer Alwin NIKOLAÏS.
The company moved to alternative premises close to Rouen where they presented some performances in collaboration with other artists while creating and touring different shows.
In 1991, Beau Geste the company was restructured as a trio (Christine ERBÉ, Philippe PRIASSO) with the artistic direction entrusted to Dominique BOIVIN.
Certain shows have become emblematic of the Beau Geste style : Mécaniques, La Danse une histoire à ma façon and Transports Exceptionnels have been performed in more than 40 countries.
Putting the emphasis on each dancer’s unique personality and movement - Beau Geste ventures into multiple performance styles: solos, cabarets, variety shows, dance conferences… all opportunities to affirm a taste for diversity, distance and humour.
