Samuel Hérault, who is 25 years old, has been practising circus since the age of 8. In 2009, he entered the circus school of Amiens, France. Through the impetus given by Nordine Allal, the new director of the circus school and Jean-Pierre Marcos, director of the Cirque Jules Verne, the school was starting its transformation into a professionalizing one. Samuel specialized in handstand and acrobatics surrounded by his teachers Adrian Monteanu, Nordine Allal, Hugo Cincet and Reynald Valleron.
In 2011, as part of the ZEPA network, he was involved in Barricade’s creation and tour along with 4 other students from Amiens. He made the most of his experience with NoFit State Circus, one of the leading contemporary circus companies in the UK which employs about 30 people on tour and enjoys an international success. He especially learned how to work in another language (although the team is very international) and was also introduced to the touring life punctuated by weekly putting up and taking down.
This year, Samuel is completing his training at the circus school of Amiens while starting to prepare his professional integration. At the end of 2011, the company NoFit State contacted him to replace a Barricade show’s artist. He has been chosen for his acrobatic skills and his knowledge of the show.
Thus, early April, he was involved with the rest of the team in 1 month of rehearsals and recreation. Since then, NoFit State Circus has started touring… with some ZEPA dates : the Brighton Festival on 5th May, Chatham on 16th June, Sotteville-Lès-Rouen (Viva Cité) on 29 and 30th June and Guipavas on 6th and 7th July.
