On 5th and 6th October 2011, the National Centre for Street arts Le Fourneau is hosting a meeting involving some of the Universities based within the European Zone of Artistic Projects (ZEPA). The meeting ties in with an aready busy week at Le Fourneau, with the involvment of a dozen students from the Bachelor of Street arts at the University of Winchester in a week of workshops and various presentations on street arts in France and Europe ; and the event La Déambule, as part of Brest’s Freshers’ week.
Universities to be represented are the University of Brest, Jules Verne University in Picardie, Artois University, the University of Winchester and Marseille-based Advanced Professional Training for Street arts the FAIAR ; and ZEPA partners from Amiens and Le Fourneau. The Universities of Brigthon and Rouen could not physically as well as other ZEPA partners could not physically attend but have expressed their strong interest in getting involved.
The aim of this meeting is to think collectively about the development of projects between the ZEPA network and Universities beyond the current ZEPA project (2013-2015). This includes :
- Facilitating skills and knowledge exchange related to street arts (University curriculum, students and teachers’ mobility)
- Developing research work, in partnership with artists, professionals and the community
